UPCOMING PROGRAMS & EVENTS:

Sept 25 & 26th SALE & EXHIBIT at Smith-Kimball during FALL FESTIVAL 10-4 STOP BY AND SEE THE EXHIBIT ON “Henry Ford in Clinton, Tecumseh & Macon. ” AND PURCHASE ONE OF OUR BOOKS, MUGS, POSTCARDS, T-SHIRTS OR OTHER ITEMS.

We will also have a float in the parade; “Through Windows of the Past”, showing costumes of old. Clinton High School Volleyball members will be our characters that are dressed in c. 1900, 1920 and 1970 costumes. If you have a 1920s costume, please call Norleen at 517-442-8385.

October 27-at the Library “ History of the Smith-Kimball Community Center & Current Affairs” by Mary Jane Way and Tamara Forro`.

November 24- at Library “History of Busch’s Fresh Market” by Cristina Hess, daughter of John Busch, who is co-owner. Cristie lives here in Clinton and is also the daughter of Society member, Sheryl Busch.

CHRISTMAS HOUSE TOUR, Dec.12 , 5-8 pm. Believe it or not; planning for 2015 Walk is just beginning. If you would like to show your home or know of someone who might, call Norleen at 517-442-8385.

NEWS:

August 7-9- US 12 GARAGE SALE… We had marvelous donations and made over$900. Thanks to everyone who donated or helped. Thanks to the American Legion who let us use their building. What a success!

A BOOK ON CLINTON’S HISTORIC BUILDINGS IS UNDERWAY. Watch for further developments.

ARCHIVES- Archives are open for research on most Fridays 3-5pm. Check the web-site for the schedule. We are always working on the files two Mondays a month and most Fridays. Help is always appreciated!

Recent acquisitions by Archives include a set of photos taken by Harold Calhoun of the Smith Kimball Community Building Fire in 1968. These photos will be shown at the October 27th program.
