HISTORY OF FORESTS IN MICHIGAN &
 HARDWOODS OF MICHIGAN’S CURRENT ROLE IN HARVESTING MICHIGAN FORESTS

Caleb Schlegel, Procurement Forester for Tri County Logging will present a program on “The History of Forests in Michigan and Hardwoods of Michigan’s current role in Harvesting Michigan Forests.”  Tri County Logging, a division of Hardwoods of Michigan works with the following species:  Ash, Basswood, Cherry, Hard and Soft Maple, Hickory, Poplar, Red and White Oak, and Walnut and samples of these woods will be on display.  Mr. Schlegel will also talk about the green practices they use in selecting & cutting trees. The public is welcome; history buffs and wood carvers are especially invited.
