UPCOMING PROGRAMS & EVENTS at Clinton Township Public Library unless otherwise noted.
Fall Festival Display & Sales at Smith Kimball Community Center 9-5, Sept. 28-29
          Please sign up to help man the display by calling Sharon Scott at 456-7198.
October 23rd- 6:30 p.m. -Building Marker Dessert at the Clinton Inn.  We have received six applications to date.  This is our last year for now.  Dessert reservations for $6 can be made by calling Mary Houghton at 456-4074.  Please try to make them by Oct. 19th.
November 27th-7:00p.m.-Program is “The History of Michigan Forests” by Caleb Schlegel, who is a forester for Tri County Logging at the Library. He will also bring a display about wood.  This should be of interest to history buffs and wood carvers.
Dec. 8, 6-9p.m. Christmas Walk.  The Christmas Walk 2011 was a big success.  Homes are being sought for 2012 Christmas Walk.  Call Norleen Hicks if you would like to participate by opening your house, planning or helping host in one of the homes, at 517-442-8385.  Funds will go towards Historic Preservation Projects.
CLINTON MUGS & T-SHIRTS FOR SALE- We have Clinton Mugs for Sale for $5.  They are available at the Clinton Inn & Floral Fantasy. T-Shirts with an old and new photo of Downtown Clinton are for sale at The Clinton Woolen Mill II and Floyd’s Wood Carving & Antique Store.  They are priced from $10-$17. Thanks to these merchants.
DONATION TO RIVERSIDE CHAPEL-The Historical Society this summer donated $500 towards the restoration of the Chapel.  This Chapel was designed by our local architect of note, Wirt Rowland.
ARCHIVES- We are now organizing the 1970 clippings from the Clinton Local.  Next dates to work are Sept. 24 & Oct. 8 & 22, 2:30 to 4:30.  Lenore Binns is working on organizing the Societies own files and Sharon Weidmayer is cataloging our maps. Norleen Hicks & Lynn Nix have been copying & filing.  Many thanks to them! We have also been doing “House Research”; lots of fun!
