UPCOMING PROGRAMS & EVENTS: Normally at Clinton Township Public Library.
March 26- 7 p.m. - Program is Irish Hills Towers: Rising Again by Larry Patton. Video will be introduced and discussion led by Donna Boglarski, owner of the Towers. 
April  23- 7 p.m. – Annual Meeting & Video on Wirt Rowland by Mark Armitage for Detroit Insight.  This video was aired on Bloomfield Hills local cable.
May 21- 12 noon-Pioneer Luncheon at the United Church of Christ.  The Historical Society Members will host the 7th? Pioneer Luncheon for area residents 80 and over.  The program will feature the Clinton Downtown Historic District.  We need salads from members and help for the luncheon.
June 25- 6 p.m. Picnic at the Community Center- Bring meat to broil, your place setting & a dish to pass.  Drinks furnished.
August 9 & 10- US 12 Garage Sale… It’s never too early to start collecting.
CLINTON MUGS & T-SHIRTS FOR SALE- We have Clinton Mugs for Sale for $5.  They are available at the Clinton Inn & Floral Fantasy. T-Shirts with an old and new photo of Downtown Clinton are for sale at The Clinton Woolen Mill II and Floyd’s Wood Carving & Antique Store.  They are priced from $10-$17. Thanks to these merchants for helping the Society.
CLINTON LOCAL AVAILABLE DIGITALLY- The Friends of the Library & the Historical Society have just made the Clinton Local 2001-2010 available at the Library, digitally.  You can search for your topic through this whole decade.  We will be raising money for a while to get the microfilm of Clinton News & Local from 1879-2000 converted to digital a decade at a time.
CHRISTMAS BUILDING TOUR A SUCCESS:  Thanks to the hard work of Norleen Hicks,
her committee and the building owners, this year’s tour was a great success with around 80
tickets sold.
ARCHIVES- We are still organizing the 1970 clippings from the Clinton Local.  Next dates to work are: Feb. 18, 25 & March 4 & 18th at 2:30p.m. Lenore Binns is working on organizing the Societies own files and Sharon Weidmayer is cataloging our maps. Norleen Hicks, Tammy Sweet & Shirley Campbell have been copying & organizing clippings.  Shirley is also working on the obituary file. Many thanks to them.  We can still use more help!
Archives Acquisitions:  We just received from Mary Jane & Bob Way two very old documents:

  1.  Original copy-Specification for the Clinton Municipal Electric Lighting Plant 1892.
  2. Original copy of an Village of Clinton Ordinance:  The Village grants to Augustus B. VanDeMark and George W. Freese…when organized “An Act To Provide For the Formation of Street Railway Companies”, approved March 5, 1867.
